The Internet is full of articles with tips on the things you must do if you would like to generate more money on the Internet. You won?t find as many articles that tell you what you should NOT do if you would like to up your potential for earning on the internet. The fact is that it is just as vital to learn what not to do as it is to learn what you should be working hard to do. You can save yourself time and energy by learning from the slips that others have made. The following are a few of the things that you should without a question NOT be doing.
Don?t let yourself get blinded with lust and greed. You are going to see all kinds of affiliate offers promoted on websites that flash pictures of luxury cars, mansions and stunning people claiming that they made billions of dollars almost overnight using the exact same software that they are trying to sell to you. Remember to keep your wits about you and do a litleresearch before pushing the ?buy? button. You?d do this kind of research into a product being so boldly sold to you off the internet. Ensure that you apply this caution online too.
Make sure you don?t try to do way too much too rapidly. Begin small and test the waters. Use these minor opportunities to discover what to do and what not to do afterwards as you grow. For example, get started with just one easily marketable affiliate product. Don?t attempt to come up with your very own product or affiliate program immediately out of the gate. Begin a blog of your own before you get started with your own subscription based webzine. This will help you get a taste for every project without your having to be troubled overmuch about getting in too deep too quickly and knowing that the field of IM you?ve picked is an awful fit for you.
Procrastination and slacking opportunities are everywhere when you are working from home. Don?t let these opportunities get the better of you! If you think better while sitting on your couch with your laptop computer and the TV on in the background, that?s fine. If you discover, though, that you are spending majority of your time watching TV shows and not doing actual work, you are going to be in a bind. It is good to find a space in your place and dedicate a certain amount of time to that space, just like you would if you had a day job. It is vital that you don?t let all of those house chores that used to wait until the weekend get in the way of your getting done what needs to get done for your IM business. It?s tough to do this at first but if you work hard and consistently you can train your body and mind to push aside the distractions that exist when you work at home.
There are plenty of errors that individuals who are IM newbies make. These are several of the most serious. Learn from the slips that other people have made and use what you have learned to get ahead of the other new people with whom you are competing. Remember, you need all of the advantages you can get!

Scientists know that Vitamin D deficiency is not healthy. However, new research from the University of Copenhagen now indicates that too high a level of the essential vitamin is not good either. The study is based on blood samples from 247,574 Copenhageners. The results have just been published in the reputed scientific Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Vitamin D is instrumental in helping calcium reach our bones, thus lessening the risk from falls and the risk of broken hips. Research suggests that vitamin D is also beneficial in combating cardiac disease, depression and certain types of cancers. The results from a study conducted by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences now support the benefits of vitamin D in terms of mortality risk. However, the research results also show higher mortality in people with too high levels of vitamin D in their bloodstream:
"We have had access to blood tests from a quarter of a million Copenhageners. We found higher mortality in people with a low level of vitamin D in their blood, but to our surprise, we also found it in people with a high level of vitamin D. We can draw a graph showing that perhaps it is harmful with too little and too much vitamin D," explains Darshana Durup, PhD student.
If the blood contains less than 10 nanomol (nmol) of vitamin per liter of serum, mortality is 2.31 times higher. However, if the blood contains more than 140 nmol of vitamin per liter of serum, mortality is higher by a factor of 1.42. Both values are compared to 50 nmol of vitamin per liter of serum, where the scientists see the lowest mortality rate.
More studies are needed
Darshana Durup emphasises that while scientists do not know the cause of the higher mortality, she believes that the new results can be used to question the wisdom of those people who claim that you can never get too much vitamin D:
"It is important to conduct further studies in order to understand the relationship. A lot of research has been conducted on the risk of vitamin D deficiency. However, there is no scientific evidence for a 'more is better' argument for vitamin D, and our study does not support the argument either. We hope that our study will inspire others to study the cause of higher mortality with a high level of vitamin D," says Darshana Durup. She adds:
"We have moved into a controversial area that stirs up strong feelings just like debates on global warming and research on nutrition. But our results are based on a quarter of a million blood tests and provide an interesting starting point for further research."
The largest study of its kind
The study is the largest of its kind ? and it was only possible to conduct it because of Denmark's civil registration system, which is unique in the Nordic countries. The 247,574 blood samples come from the Copenhagen General Practitioners Laboratory:
"Our data material covers a wide age range. The people who participated had approached their own general practitioners for a variety of reasons and had had the vitamin D level in their bloodstream measured in that context. This means that while the study can show a possible association between mortality and a high level of vitamin D, we cannot as yet explain the higher risk," explains Darshana Durup.
Therefore in future research project scientists would like to compare the results with information from disease registers such as the cancer register. Financial support is currently being sought for such projects.

In this image made from amateur video released by the Shaam News Network and accessed Monday, May 28, 2012, purports to show black smoke rising from buildings in Homs, Syria. U.N. envoy Kofi Annan called Monday on "every individual with a gun" in Syria to lay down arms, saying he was horrified by a weekend massacre that killed more than 100 people, including women and small children. BEIRUT (AP) ? The U.N. said Tuesday that entire families were shot in their homes during a massacre in Syria last week that killed more than 100 people, including children. Most of the victims were shot at close range, the U.N. said.
Rupert Colville, a spokesman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, said the conclusions were based on accounts gathered by U.N. monitors and corroborated by other sources. He said U.N. monitors found that fewer than 20 of the 108 people killed in the west-central area of Houla were killed by artillery fire.
"Most of the rest of the victims were summarily executed in two separate incidents," Colville told reporters in Geneva. "At this point it looks like entire families were shot in their houses."
He said witnesses blamed pro-government thugs known as shabiha for the attacks, noting that they sometimes operate "in concert" with government forces.
The killings in a collection of villages called Houla near the central Syrian city of Homs last week have drawn fresh attention to the Syrian conflict, in part because of the brutality of the massacre. Activists posted amateur videos online showing shells exploding in the village, dismembered bodies lying in the streets, then rows of dozens of dead laid out before being buried in a mass grave.
The U.N. has said government forces fired tank shells and artillery at Houla, but stopped short of blaming them for Friday's killings. Activists said most of the victims were killed by pro-government thugs who stormed the area after clashes with local rebels, but the regime categorically denied any involvement.
The United Nations said previously that 108 people were killed in the massacre, including 49 children and 34 women; some had bullet holes through their heads.
International envoy Kofi Annan met with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus on Tuesday, Syria's state new agency reported without giving further details.

New Zealand's tuatara has a unique way of chewing its food, say scientists who have studied its jaws in detail.
This beak-headed reptile uses a "steak-knife sawing motion" as it chews.
This could help explain how the species has continued to adapt to a changing world - and changes in available prey - over more than 200 million years.
A computer model of the tuatara, recreating its jaws as it munched on prey, has revealed that it chews like no other land animal.
The tuatara's lower jaw slides forward "to slice food apart like a saw"
This seems to allow it to "slice up" food that is too big for its mouth.
In their paper in the journal The Anatomical Record, the researchers describe how the teeth of the tuatara's lower jaw close between two upper rows of teeth "before sliding forward to slice food apart like a draw-cut saw".
Lead researcher Marc Jones from University College London said this was very unlike any living lizard or snake, which used "more of a simple opening and closing" motion.
The UK-based researchers were able to observe and film chewing tuataras at Chester Zoo.
Dr Jones and his colleagues from the universities of Hull and York then used this footage to accurately digitise and simulate the creature's characteristic chomp.
Dr Jones said that the "slicing jaws" of the tuatara allowed it to eat a wide range of prey including beetles, spiders, crickets and small lizards.
But he added that this study helped to explain some rather gruesome discoveries in the reptile's habitat.
"People have described finding seabirds with their heads sawn off," he told BBC Nature.
"Tuatara will tend to go for hatchlings if they can, but as far as I can make out [they] do sometimes take small adults.
"[We think] they change their diet seasonally - eating lots more seabirds during the summer."
Close relatives?Although the tuatara looks very much like a lizard, it actually belongs to a group of animals commonly known as beak heads, or Rhynchocephalia in the formal terminology.
The reptile, found wild only in New Zealand, is the last surviving species of its group. Its relatives died out more than 200 million years ago.
At that time, the creatures were spread throughout the globe; scientists have found some the fossilised remains of the tuatara's extinct relatives in the UK.
It is not entirely clear how and why the rest of these ancient reptiles became extinct, but the tuatara's ability to saw up its food could be a secret to its continued survival.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) ? A class-action settlement agreement has been reached to resolve nearly all the remaining court claims over allegations that government-issued trailers exposed Gulf Coast residents to hazardous fumes after Hurricane Katrina, a lead plaintiffs' attorney said Monday.
In a court filing late Monday, plaintiffs' lawyers and several companies that manufactured FEMA trailers after the 2005 storm asked U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt to approve an expanded version of a multimillion-dollar deal initially announced in April.
A separate agreement with four FEMA contractors that installed or refurbished trailers will be filed Tuesday, lead plaintiffs' attorney Gerald Meunier told The Associated Press.
Nearly two dozen FEMA trailer makers agreed last month to pay a total of $14.8 million to resolve claims over elevated formaldehyde levels in FEMA trailers following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Monday's expanded settlement agreement includes claims against trailer manufacturers Gulf Stream Coach Inc., Forest River Inc., Jayco Inc. and Monaco Coach Corp. Representatives of the four companies didn't immediately respond to emails seeking comment.
FEMA contractors Shaw Environmental Inc., Bechtel Corp., Fluor Enterprises Inc. and CH2M Hill Constructors Inc. also have reached agreements with the plaintiffs' lawyers, according to Meunier and a lawyer for the contractors.
Contractors' attorney David Kurtz said the companies are proud of the roles they played in response to Katrina.
"We agree, however, that all of the parties are best served by settling this matter and saving the time and expense of further litigation," Kurtz added.
The amount of money that would be paid by each of the eight companies wasn't immediately disclosed.
Residents of Louisiana, Texas, Alabama and Mississippi who lived in FEMA trailers after the 2005 hurricanes are eligible to participate.
Engelhardt is expected to hold a fairness hearing on the proposed settlement on Sept. 27. If he approves the deal, a group of Texas residents' claims against the Federal Emergency Management Agency would be the only formaldehyde-related claims that haven't been settled or dismissed by the judge, Meunier said.
Meunier estimates that roughly 60,000 plaintiffs could benefit from the entire settlement. He said the deal is a "positive development" for residents even if the amount of compensation is lower than many had anticipated when the case started nearly five years ago.
"But I think the outcome here reflects the realities of the case," Meunier said.
Meunier said the plaintiffs' lawyers tested a sample of FEMA trailers but couldn't test every unit occupied by every plaintiff.
"I think that presented a challenge," he said. "It was our belief that to go on trying thousands of cases with that kind of challenge in presenting the evidence ... was not going to be a very satisfactory alternative for the clients."
Daniel Balhoff, a court-appointed mediator who helped broker the proposed settlement with FEMA trailer makers, said in a court filing Monday that he believes the deal is "fair, adequate and reasonable."
"The plaintiffs are faced with significant burden of proof issues with respect to causation," he said. "For many plaintiffs, the manufactured home no longer exists or can no longer be located. Further, many individual plaintiffs faced causation problems due to the fact that they were smokers or had independent bases separate from formaldehyde exposure for their health issues."
Formaldehyde, a chemical commonly found in building materials, can cause breathing problems and is classified as a carcinogen. Government tests on hundreds of trailers in Louisiana and Mississippi found formaldehyde levels that were, on average, about five times what people are exposed to in most modern homes.
FEMA, which isn't a party in the settlement, downplayed formaldehyde risks for months before those test results were announced in February 2008. As early as 2006, trailer occupants began reporting headaches, nosebleeds and difficulty breathing.
The federal agency provided trailers or mobile homes to more than 144,000 families after the hurricanes. Plaintiffs' lawyers have accused the trailer makers of using shoddy building materials and methods in a rush to meet the agency's unprecedented demand for temporary housing.
In October 2007, Engelhardt was picked to oversee hundreds of consolidated lawsuits and tens of thousands of related claims. Since then, the case has generated more than 25,000 docket entries and resulted in three trials for individual claims. The juries in all three trials sided with the companies and didn't award any damages.
The settlement isn't the first in the litigation. Last year, a group of companies that manufactured mobile homes for FEMA after Katrina agreed to pay $2.6 million to resolve thousands of related claims. Mobile homes are larger and sturdier than travel trailers, which housed the majority of storm victims and are more prone to elevated levels of formaldehyde.
Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., which supplied FEMA with travel trailers before it filed for bankruptcy in 2009, agreed in 2010 to a settlement resolving about 7,500 to 8,000 claims. Terms of that deal weren't disclosed.
Engelhardt dismissed claims against FEMA by residents of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Plaintiffs' attorneys have asked the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans to overturn Engelhardt's dismissal of the Louisiana claims. The appeals court previously upheld his dismissal of the Mississippi and Alabama claims.

John Koetsier shares an interesting post on picking the tablet platform for the app that you develop.
John Koetsier shows the various choices of platforms available for the developers to develop an App that includes iOS , Android , Kindle Fire , Windows 8 , BlackBerry and HTML5
Below is my short opinion on the picking the platform for development.
Apple?s iOS is the leader in tablet sales and android being the leader in smartphone sales. With the Windows 8 to be launched officially later this year, it sounds like there are plenty of opportunities for the developers to develop or even port their app to different or almost all the popular platforms.
Almost all the platforms above support HTML5 with different levels of support. Check HTML5test.com to know more about how well does the browser support HTML5?
HTML5 may be a good option for the developer to look out for developing and porting the app easily across multiple platforms.
Some HTML5/JavaScript based libraries could also be looked at like
There is certainly an advantage on the Native development on these platforms and going HTML5 way or Native Way totally depends on the kind of project, target audience and the business model.

Health and fitness is one of the most common issues that are tackled daily by people. Millions of conversations are initiated by those people who are concerned about their body. It?s one factor that defines the personality and the appearance of a person. This is the reason behind the several activities that people engage in everyday to keep their body and mind healthy.
Another thing that irritates people is migraine. This is a severely painful headache that can affect a person?s ability to think, feel and work. When a person is experiencing this nuisance, you can actually see them change ? the way they talk and the way they act. Many say that the only cure for this annoyance is pain killers. However, if you are not into the medical field, you can employ natural migraine relief methods so as to save valuable money.
Now you are given the freedom to choose between the two modes of extinguishing the pesky headache. But many experts strongly recommend that you use natural migraine treatment techniques. At this moment, you might be wondering how effective this way is. Well, scientific explanations will suffice to prove its effectiveness.
Causes of Migraine
To one group of people, migraine may be caused by bad luck or by bad spirits. Conversely, to another crowd, it is caused by several factors which can be thoroughly explained. Chocolate is one major reason the existence of such pain. Undoubtedly, most people love chocolates because of the sensation it gives to people. But many of them do not know that this can cause ruthless headaches that one may find difficult to contain.
Other popular causes of migraine are low blood sugar levels and eating too salty foods. Science has found out that when the blood sugar is deficient, migraines can be formed. And if you are eating food which are very salty ? such as junk foods, soups and the like ? it can likewise give you severe headaches.
Natural Methods to Keep Away Migraines
There are several natural migraine relief schemes that you can utilize to avoid this harsh headache. One way is to avoid chocolates. Now this might sound absurd but this is true. You can even try it yourself if you have doubts as regards its effectiveness. As much as possible keep yourself away from those luscious sweets to shun migraines.
Another thing you should consider doing is to avoid salty food. This isn?t so hard, is it? You must know which kinds of food are rich in salt. When you are watching a movie, avoid eating foods like popcorn, junk foods and the like. You should get used to eating healthy snacks like wheat bread and cheese. In addition, you should also keep yourself away from soft drinks and be used to natural fruit juices. Not only are these juices healthier, they are also cheaper. Lastly, you may want to take vitamins daily. Choose those vitamins which carry with it vitamin C and vitamin B6. To middle-aged people, this might sound awkward but it really helps.
These are the most important things that you should do for you to avoid migraines. So if you frequently have headaches and you want to get rid of them, employ natural migraine treatment methods to ensure yourself that reoccurrence is out of the question.

ScienceDaily (May 28, 2012) ? NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a new image of the spiral galaxy known as ESO 498-G5. One interesting feature of this galaxy is that its spiral arms wind all the way into the center, so that ESO 498-G5's core looks like a bit like a miniature spiral galaxy. This sort of structure is in contrast to the elliptical star-filled centers (or bulges) of many other spiral galaxies, which instead appear as glowing masses.
Astronomers refer to the distinctive spiral-like bulge of galaxies such as ESO 498-G5 as disc-type bulges, or pseudobulges, while bright elliptical centers are called classical bulges. Observations from the Hubble Space Telescope, which does not have to contend with the distorting effects of Earth's atmosphere, have helped to reveal that these two different types of galactic centers exist. These observations have also shown that star formation is still going on in disc-type bulges and has ceased in classical bulges. This means that galaxies can be a bit like Russian matryoshka dolls: classical bulges look much like a miniature version of an elliptical galaxy, embedded in the center of a spiral, while disc-type bulges look like a second, smaller spiral galaxy located at the heart of the first -- a spiral within a spiral.
The similarities between types of galaxy bulge and types of galaxy go beyond their appearance. Just like giant elliptical galaxies, the classical bulges consist of great swarms of stars moving about in random orbits. Conversely, the structure and movement of stars within disc-type bulges mirror the spiral arms arrayed in a galaxy's disc. These differences suggest different origins for the two types of bulges: while classical bulges are thought to develop through major events, such as mergers with other galaxies, disc-type bulges evolve gradually, developing their spiral pattern as stars and gas migrate to the galaxy's center.
ESO 498-G5 is located around 100 million light-years away in the constellation of Pyxis (The Compass). This image is made up of exposures in visible and infrared light taken by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys. The field of view is approximately 3.3 by 1.6 arcminutes.

Dear Izzy, Max, and Kate,
Yesterday I woke up with a sense of desperation. I dreaded Friday all week. Occasionally throughout our fun filled week at the beach, I would think about it, become anxious, and then force myself back into the moment.
To me, the last full day of vacation has always felt desperate. There are things to accomplish. I want to make sure we squeeze all of our week long experience back into that one final day. So, I woke up earlier than usual and walked down to the beach alone. I looked out across the water and breathed deep ? waiting for revelation; One final moment of solitude when I?d be given an answer about where my life is headed. Mostly I just felt the coolness of the morning seabreeze and the sea itself rolling over my feet. I tried to pray, but I kept peeking at the water. I kept glancing down the shoreline imagining old post cards. I remembered what I?d heard one time about God being in the water and in the breeze, and I stopped trying so hard.
I walked back to the house and gently ? accidentally ? woke everyone up. We went to the beach earlier than normal. We swam, took a kayak into deep water, dug holes, built castles, and searched for shells underwater. I sat in the sand letting it cover me, appreciating it?s coarseness.
We went to the pool and did eveything that we?d learned was fun there. Max, you jumped in from the side and touched the bottom. Kate, you swam with your face in the water. And Izzy, you practiced your gymnastics routines underwater.
After lunch we did it all over again. Hours at the beach. Hours at the pool. Everyone exhausted. Everyone sunburnt one last time.
By 5:00pm I was alone with my feet in the water again. That desperate feeling somehow still clinging to my spirit. The week was over. It was a great vacation and I?m not sure we could have squeezed in any more fun than we did. I went underwater and closed my eyes tight wondering one last time about life and what it holds for us down the road. I let it wash over me. I walked back to the house with Papaw.
We went and had frozen custard and shaved ice at Seaside as the sunset.
I think life can be like the last day of vacation sometimes. We seek rest. We find ways to relax. But in the end we?re desperate for one final moment. Rest, relax, but seize those moments when you can.
I?ll send you kids more pictures and tell you more stories soon. We?re driving home to Tennessee soon, so I need to wake you up for one final trip down to the beach. One final dip of our feet in the water? and one final breeze across our faces ? until we come back?in August.
Love,
- Daddy

The constant fiscal emergency along with worldwide slump has resulted in an increase in the number of UK residents living with lots of debt and it is still going up. With fiscal state in shambles, it becomes gradually more difficult for the people to get fiscal support, so as to fulfill some basic personal needs. Moreover, a bit of fiscal assistance is also necessary to battle with the financial troubles. With a sight to help the people, loan providers now have come up with bad debt unsecured loans. These loans are designed to give instant financial support to the people that help everyone to fulfill their financial goals as per your personal obligations to refill the financial liberty.
Bad debt unsecured loans are particularly planned keeping in mind your financial desires and wishes of those who are stressed to resolve the bad debts.
As a matter of fact, these cash loans help these people to keep their fiscal liberty. Further, the loans can be also use to handle different other fiscal needs such as buying a car, enhancement of home, going for a vacation and even consolidating debts, so as to recover the credit score. As per the need and current conditions, you can derive quickly these loans in secured and unsecured bad debt unsecured loans. To obtain the secured form of the loans, one has to place an asset as collateral. The collateral placed gives a promise to the lender, who in turn allows the needy person to get a bigger amount at reasonably low interest rate and that too for a longer term.
On the other hand, unsecured bad debt unsecured loans are doomed for those who are in need of a small cash money amount and do not wish to pledge security. The loans are offered for a short term period and the endorsement too comes immediately, in the absence of collateral. However, the rates of interest charged will be slightly high and you can easily solve this trouble by making determined research of the finance market. You can easily send your request online where some of the personal details are required to place.

Pennsylvania electric suppliers are also offering consumers competitive electric rates helping to lower millions of customer's electric bills each month. There is no longer a reason to keep the utility for your supply and delivery services when you can lower your electric supply charges by choosing a competitive New Jersey Electric Provider or Pennsylvania electric provider.
As the summer approaches and you plan to be using more electricity for your air conditioning and fans, you want to be sure you are getting the best rate available. Choices for your supplier can help you control this expense during the warmer months of summer just as they do in the winter season. To switch electric suppliers in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, you need to compare the rates being offered, the type of rate it is (fixed or variable), and then simply select a plan and supplier that offers you the best rate.
By selecting a competitive electric supply rate, you can save a significant amount of money each month depending upon your household or business usage. In addition to saving money, there are no fees to switch to a new electric supplier in Pennsylvania or New Jersey and you will continue to receive your bill from the utility you currently have.
For business customers, you typically want to get quotes from various suppliers or use an online service that can provide the best rates available from top electric suppliers in your area. You can typically either get a fixed or variable rate with fixed rate contracts being the most popular option. These contracts are generally for 6, 12, 24 or 36 months and some can be even longer. However, 12 and 24 months are usually the most popular terms for businesses as the rates are better in the shorter terms.
Today, deregulation has allowed customers the "power to choose" their electric supplier and receive competitive rates. For residents, you can simply make the switch to a new supplier at any time.
In today?s economy, consumers want to save money especially on energy bills. Many states today are deregulating their electric and gas markets and creating a competitive environment for new electric suppliers to help customers save on electric supply charges while the utility continues to deliver the power. This coming three-day holiday weekend includes Memorial Day.
After all the patriotic music and marches you?re likely to hear, you might just be in the mood for something more serious, both dramatic and lyrical.
And even though we are in the intermission between the spring and summer concert season, one event looks very promising.
Next Wednesday night (May 30, 2012) at 7:30 p.m. at the Middleton Performing Arts Center, attached to Middleton High School, The Middleton Community Orchestra (below, in a photo by William Ballhorn) will present its Spring Concert.

The concert features terrific three works: the ?Jolly Robbers? Overture by Franz von Suppe; the contagiously tuneful and charming Piano Concerto in A major, K. 488 by Mozart; and the dense Symphony No. 4 by Brahms, one of the greatest symphonies ever composed.
Tickets are $10 general admission. Students are free. Tickets are available at the door, Willy St. Coop West or by calling (608) 212-8690.
The conductor is Steve Kurr (below).

The guest soloist is pianist Thomas Kasdorf (below), a life-long Middleton resident, who will be performing the Mozart concerto.
Kasdorf is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with his Bachelor?s of Music in Piano Performance, where he studied with Professor Christopher Taylor.
At UW-Madison, Kasdorf was selected to be an inaugural member of the Perlman Piano Trio, which awards scholarships and performance opportunities to talented undergraduate students to give performances of chamber music.

His work with the Perlman Trio (below, with violinist Eleanor Bartsch and cellist Maureen Kelly) and with other instrumentalists has been featured in performances on Wisconsin Public Radio?s ?Live at the Midday? series, as well as in Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society?s House Concert Series.
He was named co-winner of the Irving Shain Woodwind and Piano Duo Competition, with collaborative partner, flutist Morgann Davis and was awarded the Bolz Prize of the Madison Symphony Concerto Competition and performed Grieg?s Piano Concerto in A Minor at their Spring Youth Concerts.
He has performed in master classes given by: composer William Bolcom, violinists Nadja Salerno Sonnenburg and Pinchas Zukerman; cellists Steven Isserlis, Ronald Leonard, Ralph Kirshbaum and Timothy Eddy, and pianists Robert MacDonald, Jeffrey Siegel and Adam Neiman.

Kasdorf has worked in a variety of roles (both on and offstage) with a multitude of local performing arts groups, including Strollers Theatre, Madison Theatre Guild, Four Seasons Theatre, University Theatre, University Opera, and Children?s Theatre of Madison, in over 100 different shows.
With a specialty in the works of Stephen Sondheim, he has been called upon to arrange and perform reduced or solo orchestrations of Sondheim scores, including ?A Little Night Music,? ?Sunday in the Park with George,? ?Putting It Together,? ?Sweeney Todd,? ?Side by Side by Sondheim,? ?Into the Woods? and ?Company.? He also serves on the board of directors for Middleton Players Theatre and will be musical director for Sondheim?s ?Into the Woods? with them in August at the Middleton Performing Arts Center (below), where he will perform Wednesday night.

'One Trail To Heaven' - In The Labyrinth (8/10) Although a so-called 'best of' compilation seems better suited for a band or artist that has already achieved some degree of commercial success, 'One Trail To Heaven' is a damned good argument for newcomers to check out any of In The Labyrinth's three albums. Led and arranged by Swedish composer Peter Lindahl, the music takes the listener on a winding journey across Europe and Asia, often fusing different cultures and styles of folk into a beautiful mix. As ambiently-inclined as Lindahl's work tends to be here, there is a wealth of diverse sound and beauty to soak up on 'One Trail To Heaven'.
In The Labyrinth is another one of those artists I have come across that seems painfully underexposed. Comparisons could be drawn with Australian innovators Dead Can Dance; this music envelops several cultures, from Northern European folk to Indian sitar- exploration and Far East ambiance. What makes the sound so convincing is in the execution. The instrumentation is authentic and admirably performed, and the production crisp and professional. Occasionally, Lindahl will opt for a more conventionally Western singer-songwriter approach (as is the case with the fantasy-glazed 'Muscarin Madness') but the majority of this compilation is geared towards showcasing his more ambitious orchestrations. Hammered dulcimers, 'Chinese flute', and a myriad of Arabic percussion are some of the instruments heard here.
For a compilation, 'One Trail To Heaven' enjoys a healthy sense of flow, often to the point where I could be fooled into thinking this is a regular studio album. On top of a handful of preferred picks from the three albums, there is also unreleased material, exclusive to this compilation. For me, 'Moorish Rhapsody' is the highlight of this ordeal; a Celtic-Arabic folk fusion with warm, Beatles-like vocals not dissimilar from Arjen 'Ayreon' Lucassen's voice. The melancholic 'Over The Wall' is another favourite of mine, whisking the listener away to Nepal and a spiritual quest to Kathmandu.
Peter Lindahl's work is vast and deserves a much greater audience than he has thus far been given. Although this is technically not a studio album, 'One Trail To Heaven' makes for a perfect introduction to the music of In The Labyrinth. Within the course of an hour, many cultures are explored, and each leaves a gorgeous impression. The diversity does make for a somewhat scattered listen, but as compilations go, this is gold.
